That Time I Saw Lamar

I don't know why but my family is obsessed intrigued with the Kardashians.

Proof. Here. Here. and Here.

We've even been referred to as the blonde Kardashians. So when I heard the Dallas Mavericks were going to be in town, I gently hinted to Scotty that I would love to go and see Lamar ... and secretly hoping Khloe would be there.

After a rough day at work I went home not wanting to do anything, until Scotty told me he may have snagged (and by may he did) courtside seats to the Jazz vs. Mavericks game that night. COURTSIDE! That meant a Lamar sighting up close and personal! Not to mention we got the VIP treatment. Gotta love hook-ups.

I was probably my favorite Jazz game I've attended!

 Girls in the half-time room.
Bre, Me, Steph and Angie (one of my cute future sister-in-laws).

Lookin' sick. Told you it was a rough day. This guy, though, sure knows how to make a bad day amazing!
(Can you tell Scotty is a fan?)

Next time Khloe or Kim better show up.

Goaaaaaal

My sister put my niece in soccer this fall. Sad to say the season almost slipped away without me going to a game. I finally made it up there last night to see her last game. It was so entertaining to watch. At one point one of Alli's teammates was on the other side of the field picking grass. But Alli is a pretty aggressive player ... something she definitely did not pick up from me.

Alli had her own cheering section.
Action shots ... these are mostly for grandma and grandpa J. You're welcome.

Eating her post-game treat (Isn't that why you play soccer as a kid?) and showing off her medal.

So glad I was able to go. Can't wait for next season.

OVER-Load

If you couldn't tell my life sometimes revolves around sports.
Sometimes I like it. Sometimes it's just too much.

This weekend was full of sports.
Come Saturday morning I was what I like to call sported-out.
So I detoxed (i.e. went shopping).

That is besides the point.
Here are the weekends events of what else? ... Sports.

Thursday we attended Jimmer's All Stars. It was pretty much a glorified pick-up game meets Harlem Globetrotters. The game meant nothing, but was entertaining nonetheless. I actually ran into Kawhi Leonard, apparently a big star, the day of the game. For work I had to run up to the Marriott Center. There was a kid sitting on the curb. All I could think was this kid does not belong in Provo. It crossed my mind that he might be playing in the game. Little did I know I just passed up an opportunity to meet a future NBA star. My bad.

My favorite of the night was Isaiah Thomas (#2) ... who would stop mid-game to pose for pictures. Oh ya, and Jimmer was there too. Remember how Provo has Jimmer Fever? It's still an epidemic around these parts.

Friday night was another BYU Football game. Thanks to Lia we got some pretty sweet tickets.
Front row? Yes please.
My fifteen seconds of fame on ESPN? Done and done.
We look really excited about the game, don't we?

Stephanie showed up wearing the exact same thing as me ... all the way down to our sparkly Sperry's.

Phew. I'm done with sports for a while.
... Oh wait. Scotty's watching Sports Center as I write this. We might have a problem here.

All that Jazz

Wednesday night I was invited to experience the Jazz up close and personal. We are talking Courtside! I guess maybe I should say I experienced the Houston Rockets up close and personal because we were sitting in the row right behind the visitors bench. Too bad Yao Ming is injured. I would have loved to see how huge he is. Plus he is the only one who I actually knew of on that team. But it was so much fun watching and listening to the teams and refs.

After experiencing the game like that, I think the whole NBA thing could grow on me.

P.S. You like all my song and movie titles lately? I'm so clever I know.
