Honeymoon

Our honeymoon was spent in Southern California. Nowhere crazy. But I was more than ok with the quick flight, warmer weather and the beach!

We spent a few days in Oceanside where we visited the San Diego LDS temple, had the most amazing mexican food in Old Town San Diego, walked around La Jolla and Coronado.

 San Diego LDS Temple
La Jolla.

Then we went a little more north and stayed a few days in Newport Beach. I fell in love with that area. We rented bikes and rode along the beach, laid out in the sun, visited the Newport Beach Temple and drove up and down, gawking at the rows of amazing houses on Balboa Island.

 At the beach.

I swear I didn't wear that shirt every day! That's embarrassing.

One of the highlights was when we took a day trip up to Los Angeles and "happen" to run into my brother who is serving in the San Fernando Mission. He had no idea (I hope I didn't get him in trouble) and with a little puzzle piecing and persuasion from my mom and Scott, we may or may not have figured out where my brother was. I wish he could've been at the wedding but he is where he is supposed to be ... and "running" into him made up for it a little.

Proof. I miss that boy!

Wedding: Reception

Our reception turned out perfect!! At least I think so. I used to want to be a wedding planner so I enjoyed planning most aspects of the wedding. Especially the details. I loved the venue. Loved how the decorations and details turned out and loved how the colors came together. My colors were neutrals (tans, greys, taupes, golds, silvers, pearls) with a hint of pink. I got a lot of my ideas off of pinterest. I kept joking with people as I was planning that pinterest was planning my wedding. What did we ever do without it? The reception was so fun! I wish I could go back and take the night in again. I wish I had more time to visit with everyone who came to support us.

I love both of these family photos. Everyone looks so good!

Can you tell that girls run in both of our families? I love all my sisters!
My bridesmaids were Scotty's youngest sisters Chrissy and Angie and my sister Stephanie.
I know. Gorgeous girls!
My flower girls were all of my nieces. Told you girls run in our family.
There are actually two more but they didn't have a nap that day and weren't having it.

Me and the missionaries.
We both have brothers on missions. Robby was home for the wedding due to a needed surgery. My brother made his cameo via cardboard cutout!
It's actually Mitt Romney with Scottie's head put on it. Turned out good, ya?

My cute parents. I just love them!

Details.

One of my favorite details of the wedding was our wishing tree. Instead of a traditional sign in book we had a wishing tree where people would leave us their "best wishes."

Another one of my favorite details was the kids table. I loved how it turned out. We got a table their height and had coloring books, bubbles and bride and groom barbies for them to play with. I made pinwheels for the table centerpieces. Adrienne made that mobile above the kids table

We had Magleby's cater our reception. The food was amazing!
Our cake.
 About to cut the cake.

Our reception was a whirlwind to say the least.
But I loved every part of it!

Wedding: Temple Snapshots

Finally I am getting to pictures of the big day. The wedding ceremony was obviously one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. I hope I never forget that part of the day! Coming out of the temple and seeing our family and friends was also a big highlight for me. Here are a few snapshots.

 Coming out of the temple!
One of my new nieces. She is just the sweetest thing.

Another one of my cute new nieces. I love her freckles.
Modeling my fur coat I got for $20. I mean what better time to have an excuse to buy one?!
Both Scott and I have amazing friends. Some of them traveled far to come support us!
And one last one of us. I just love those doors.

My sister blogged about the wedding too.

My Wedding Dress

From the time you're a little girl, it's something you think about. At least I think most girls do. You see your older cousins/sisters and role models get married, you watch the classic Disney princess movies and you dream. What will my wedding dress look like? I never really knew exactly what I wanted. But I knew I wanted something I loved.

After we got engaged, I knew my dress was something I was going to be pretty particular about. I went shopping multiple times and finally (and accidentally) came across my dress.

I loved loved loved the lace and fell in love with the back! It was simple and classic. Perfect for me! There had to be alterations made as it was strapless and I wanted/needed sleeves. I gave the alterations lady at The Perfect Dress (Where I bought my dress. Highly recommend!) a picture of what I envisioned the neckline and sleeves to to look like and she went to work.

It's amazing that my dress started looking like this...

I'll spare you the snapshots of me in it pre-alterations.

And ended up looking like this...

I loved it. I wouldn't change one thing about it!

Our Wedding Dinner

The night before the wedding my in-laws hosted the most amazing dinner for close family and friends. It was located on an upper floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The room was beautiful, the food was amazing and the decorations were awesome. Seriously. I don't think the night could have gone any more perfect. I might be bias, but it was also pretty entertaining. It was a great way for both sides to come together and get to know me and Scotty better. A very fun-filled and relaxing night!

Aren't these favors cute? My mother-in-law put together a goody bag full of my and Scott's favorite treats and a CD of some of our favorite love songs ... mostly old fashion, classic ones.

Me and Scotty.
Awww.
Me and my sisters.
My fam. The Johnsons. Minus my brother.
Don't worry he makes a cameo at the reception.
My cute parents.
My little flower girls (aka my nieces). Aren't they cute?!

After dinner our families put together a little program to help people get to know us better. Pretty much it was a way to embarrass and tease us. A roast if you will. All in good fun though and pretty entertaining!

Afterward, Scott's sisters, who are AMAZING violinists, put together a little musical number for us. They put their own little twist on it involving the crowd as they played (and sang) Nat King Cole's infamous L.O.V.E. song. It was awesome and clearly I was enjoying it (see second picture).

It was such a good start to an amazing weekend!
